SUSPYRE Seeks New Drummer
January 26, 2008New Jersey-based progressive metallers SUSPYRE are seeking a talented and committed drummer to complete the band's permanent lineup. Their current drummer Jeff Willet has left the band due to scheduling conflicts and previously unforeseen circumstances. Auditions will be held until mid-March.
Applicants MUST possess the following:
1. A demonstrated ability to play with impeccable timing and accuracy. Knowledge of music theory is a plus.
3. Confidence in themselves but also a willingness to be a team player.
4. Proficiency in playing double bass and songs with odd time signatures.
5. Residency in the United States (NJ/PA/NY residency is preferred).
6. At least 21 years old.
7. A familiarity with the SUSPYRE catalog.
8. A flexible work schedule, since should you land the gig you will be asked to do extensive touring with the band and weekend recording sessions.
Applicants should submit the following:
1. A recording (on CD audio or DVD video) of yourself playing these two SUSPYRE songs: "April in the Fall" and "Last of the Survivors". They must be raw live recordings. If you need sheet music or a click track of the songs, please send an e-mail requesting it. Do not send us clips of songs previously recorded in other bands.
2. A photo of yourself and links to your MySpace or web site.
3. A brief biography outlining your experience and gear setup.
4. Contact address, e-mail address, and phone number should the band wish to audition you further.

SUSPYRE released its second album, "A Great Divide", in April 2007 on Lance King's (BALANCE OF POWER, PYRAMAZE) label Nightmare Records, but due to the buyout of Navarre Distribution by Koch International, the CD's release date in the USA was delayed until September 11, 2007. SUSPYRE is currently working the follow-up effort, tentatively due later in the year.
